CEDA Dredging Days 2007
The day after we stop dredging -
dredging for infrastructure and public welfare

Conference and Exhibition
7 - 9 November 2007, Ahoy Rotterdam, the Netherlands
in conjunction with Europort Maritime 2007 exhibition

With the title The day after we stop dredging – dredging for infrastructure and public welfare CEDA designed this conference not only to present state of the art useful information for the delegates but also to raise a wider awareness of just how important dredging is to the infrastructure and public welfare. In five technical sessions, internationally renowned invited keynote speakers will tell about the consequences in their particular area of work of not being able to dredge. Speakers in  each session will offer approaches and solutions and will present case studies for win-win solutions.  As part of CEDA’s ongoing support to education, the conference will also include the “Academic Session” for university and college students and young faculty to present their research results on any subject matter related to dredging.

The conference will be complemented by a dredging exhibition staged in the area adjacent to the technical session room.  The central location of the exhibition area will provide an opportunity for the exhibitors to present their products and services to a select and focused group of international experts and decision-makers. Corporate members of CEDA enjoy a 37% discount on the rental rate.

The conference programme will include an optional  technical visit on 7 November to Amsterdam’s new North / South metro line where participants will have the opportunity to experience first hand this challenging civil engineering construction work.

A new addition to Dredging Days 2007 will be a poster competition for young people.  In A1 size posters participants will illustrate in bold and clear statements their ideas on what the world might look like if we stopped dredging. Please encourage your young colleagues to participate in this competition and to attend the Dredging Days. In the exhibition area there will be a designated meeting point for young professionals.  A special registration fee (€ 35 is available for students).
The traditional CEDA Netherlands Reception to which all conference participants and CEDA  Members  are invited will offer an excellent opportunity for networking and socializing.
