We have the pleasure of inviting you to the SedNet Conference “Sediment key-issues between the river and the sea”, which will be held in Venice on 23-24 November 2006.

The conference starts in the evening of Thursday 23 November (at 18:30 hrs) with a welcome reception and poster session, and continues the next day until 21:00 hrs.

Te venue of the event is the Venetian home base of UNESCO: the beautiful Palazzo Zorzi, Castello 4930, 30122 Venice, Italy – see www.unesco.org/venice (where you will also find instructions how to travel to the venue).

If you wish to attend the conference then please complete the attached registration form and return it to the SedNet Secretariat before 1 November 2006. The fee for attending our event is 100 Euro (excl. VAT) per participant. We will send you an invoice upon receipt of your registration.

Hotel accommodation in Venice can be arranged via booking office Venezia Hotel Reservations. You can use the attached hotel booking form for this purpose.

Note for those among you who have been approached for participating in the Round Table discussion on 22-23 November 2006:

The conference will be preceded by a 2-day Round Table discussion (for invited participants only). While the conference aims at scientific sediment key-issues, the Round Table discussion focuses on practical issues related to the implementation of sediment management in River Basin Management Plans. A detailed program of this Round Table discussion will be disseminated by mid September.
